Winter in St. Anton am Arlberg

A winter sports area of superior quality

St. Anton am Arlberg, the cradle of alpine skiing, is considered the pioneer of modern skiing. The Tyrolean mountain village forms the heart of the largest connected skiing area in Austria with 305 kilometres of marked downhill runs, 88 lifts and cable cars and 200 kilometres of off-piste variants.

Skiing

There are over 305 kilometres of marked ski runs. In addition, skiers will find around 200 kilometres of free terrain. The longest continous downhill run with a total distance of 9 kilometres, a difference in altitude of 1,350 metres, leads from the Valluga via the Ulmerhütte to St. Anton am Arlberg.

Cross-country skiing & dedicated trails

St. Anton am Arlberg has a more than 40 kilometres long cross-country ski trail network. You can find out which trails are open in the trail condition report.

Tobogganing

Snow fun in St. Anton am Arlberg does not have to be limited to skiing or snowboarding. In the middle of the winter sports area, the Gampen with its four-kilometre-long natural toboggan run also attracts visitors. Twice a week there is a toboggan evening on the illuminated natural toboggan run.

Winter via ferrata

The via ferrata, which is suitable for tourers of medium fitness, is equipped with a steel rope. About 20 percent must be climbed directly on the rock, the rest of the route is normal hiking.

Winter and snowshoe hiking

Crunching snow under your feet, a pleasant mountain climate and altitude training included. The offer for winter hikers has already grown to 80 kilometres. A total of 17 advertised trails.

Ski tours

Snowboarding

The internationally renowned ski area Ski Arlberg is a true paradise for snowboarders with its diverse slopes and numerous freeride possibilities.

In St. Anton am Arlberg children have their own holiday world. The village is a holiday resort for the whole family, so it goes without saying that children are very welcome here.

Paragliding

Discover gigantic mountain formations, glittering snow-covered slopes and untouched landscapes. With the flight school “Flight Connection Arlberg” you will feel “free as an eagle” for a brief moment.

Horse-drawn carriage rides

A special highlight to explore the snow-covered valley and enjoy the peace and tranquillity is a romantic horse-drawn carriage ride.

Ice skating / curling

Enjoy long winter evenings among friends on our artificial ice rink in the middle of St. Anton am Arlberg and be impressed by our snow-covered mountain scenery. Generally speaking the ice rink is open from December to the beginning of March.

Swimming / Fitness / Wellness

Recreation and wellness in the Arlberg WellCom event and congress centre. Besides a swimming pool and a wellness area, the Arlberg WellCom also offers a fitness studio.
